Founded in 1912 on the Neva River the Shipyard has gone through hardship to the stars becoming a large, advanced, high-tech company. Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard renders a full range of services in construction of ships and vessels of low-magnetic steel, aluminum and fiberglass: from documentation preparation to delivery of a warship or vessel. The Shipyard produces warships and vessels for various purposes – missile boats (corvettes), mine ships, patrol ships, work and passenger vessels of the following dimensions: length up to 100 m, beam up to 16 m, draft up to 4.5 m, launching weight up to 2 700 t. Besides, the Shipyard renders a wide range of services in machining, plating, sheet metal processing, fiberglass processing, and degaussing.
Today Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard is one of the leading shipbuilders in Russia specializing in the construction of fiberglass warships and vessels of the next generation. The company uses the latest high technologies and developments. In 2004 the Shipyard was included in the Federal Target Program Development of the Defense-Industrial Complex, thus getting a significant financial support for the reconstruction of main facilities.
Also, the Shipyard became a part of the Federal Target Program Research and Technological Base and started establishing pilot production to master the manufacture of ship and hull structures of polymeric materials. Now, the Shipyard is introducing the latest technology of hull construction by infusion.
For this purpose the company acquired advanced equipment and software . Full development of these technologies will allow the Shipyard to become the only Russian company specializing in the construction of monolithic fiberglass hulls up to 80 m.
Now the Shipyard makes missile boats, trawlers, passenger and work vessels for various purposes and is about to start the large-scale construction of mine warships of the new generation for the Russian Navy and foreign countries. Fiberglass superstructure for Type 20380 corvettes are in batch production today.
